Apple

Apple has confirmed the launch of Apple Fitness Plus in India on December 15, 2025, signaling the company’s biggest global rollout to date. The service is also expanding to 28 additional countries, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Chile, the Netherlands, Norway, the Philippines, Poland, Vietnam, Taiwan, and others as detailed in the company’s official newsroom announcement.

Apple Fitness Plus will be available across iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, with enhanced features when paired with the Apple Watch or AirPods. The platform offers 12 categories of workouts and meditations, including Yoga, HIIT, Strength, Pilates, Dance and Kickboxing. Users can choose sessions ranging from 5 to 45 minutes and access tools such as Custom Plans, real time performance metrics, Activity Rings, and the Burn Bar. Apple is also debuting a new K Pop workout music category designed to attract younger users and add a cultural edge to its programming.

The expansion comes at a time when the digital fitness ecosystem is experiencing strong global momentum. According to Grand View Research, the global fitness app market was valued at USD 10.6 billion in 2024 and is expected to reach USD 33.6 billion by 2033. This reflects a compound annual growth rate of 13.6% from 2025 to 2033. Exercise and weight loss apps currently dominate the market, driven by heightened consumer focus on preventive health and the rising incidence of lifestyle related conditions.

India represents a rapidly growing opportunity for fitness and wellness platforms. Increasing popularity of Apple products and rising internet penetration is supporting the demand for home based fitness formats and similar digital workout solutions. Apple’s entry is expected to elevate the competitive landscape and stimulate innovation in personalization, content design and data driven coaching. For Indian users, Apple Fitness+ introduces a premium digital fitness ecosystem that integrates entertainment, guided workouts, and performance insights. For the broader industry, it signals continued acceleration toward technology-enabled wellness routines and flexible fitness experiences. With strong market projections and rising health awareness worldwide, digital fitness platforms are likely to play a central role in shaping consumer wellness habits in the years ahead.
