The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, has confirmed that India will host the AI Impact Summit on 19–20 February 2026. The announcement underscores India’s ambition to play a central role in shaping the future of artificial intelligence on the global stage.

The event is a part of a series of international AI summits previously hosted in the U.K., France, Korea, and Rwanda. The summit is likely to bring together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and innovators to deliberate on the safe and inclusive deployment of AI.

Key Priorities for the Summit

  • AI for Public Good: Leveraging artificial intelligence to solve challenges in healthcare, education, agriculture, and climate resilience.
  • Inclusive Growth: Ensuring AI benefits extend to rural and underserved communities across India.
  • Digital Infrastructure: Expansion of initiatives like AIKosh, which already hosts 1,000+ datasets and 200+ AI models, and scaling access to GPU computing for developers.
  • Global Partnerships: Positioning India as a collaborative partner in global AI governance.

Strategic Outlook

The Electronic and Information Technology Minister (MeitY), Ashwini Vaishnaw, emphasized that the summit aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Technology for Public Good.” Recent pilot projects across Indian districts, including AI-powered education tools that showed 100% improvement in mathematics learning outcomes, highlight AI’s transformative potential.
